It has been five months since I have graduated. During this time I have learnt how to tackle joblessness. Because joblessness is a crisis. There is some Etiquette and rules that must be followed in order to get you out of this crisis. Some of them are listed below:

1- If some one asks you about your job, then don’t be embarrassed or emotional while replying him. Don’t start blaming any person, company, society or the system for your unemployment. Because it would not solve your problem rather it would cast an image in the other person’s mind that you always end up by blaming others for your failure, instead of finding an alternate solution. Show some positive attitude and professionalism. You may reply him that “Yes, I am unemployed but I hope to get a good job soon”

2- Never under estimate yourself. Don’t even think that you are jobless only because you are incompetent. Try to realize that the job cutting is the Global issue and you are not the only jobless person. You should hope that you may get a good job after things start getting better. Remember that bad times often comes in ones life but do not stays for long time, we should face these situations boldly

3- Do not be aggressive about networking with people, as if it causes the other person to feel that you are not interested in him but you are talking to him only because you think he may help you to get a job or an internship. Remember that networking means friendship which can be a life long and it does not ends after you get a job

4- Never blame the person in your existing network for not being sincere to you just because he is unable to get you a job. Remember that hiring you for a job is not in their hands. Instead you must appreciate their efforts, whether he is able to get you any job or not

5- Staying at home hole of the day and waiting for an interview call would be useless. Get yourself out of isolation. Try to meet your employed and unemployed friends and fellows. Get some certification done like CCNA, CCNP etc. At the same time you can do some part time job like tuitions and there can be many others also. In this way you can make yourself busy and it can also divert your mind and may help you to reduce the self made pressure on your mind due to unemployment

6- If you don’t have references, if you have low CGPA, don’t bother because you can not increase these two by worrying about them again and again. You have to work with what you have. Forget about the past and focus on your future. Job is dependent upon two things; Luck and your Efforts. Luck is not in your hands but efforts are. Market yourself; show your presence in the job market. Create your profiles on Face Book and Linked In. Attend every seminar or session or a job fair related to Telecom Industry. Try to link up with every one you know. Apply every formula of job hunting; don’t restrict to only newspaper and website. One day you will see that you will be telling these things to others

7- Zumbeel has bridged the gap between universities and the job market. Attending the seminars and sessions like ZLF (Zumbeel Live Forum) and ZKS (ZUMBEEL knowledge session) will be very much beneficial. These can also become your first step towards job. In these sessions you can easily meet and discuss with the telecom professionals; meeting whom otherwise is not possible. You can ask them about the guidance and information which you readily need for your job search. At these platforms you can also show your worth and can also increase your network. Try not to miss these sessions

8- Try not to keep high expectations to avoid disappointments. Have an open mind and expect that there will be challenges along the way. Maintain a positive attitude and think that everything is a part of learning process. Don’t be discouraged when you face rejection, but remember that every failure is a step towards success

9- Remember that you are not the only person passing from this situation, everyone faces these tough days of joblessness. But every on has his own way of getting out of this situation, try to find your best path. Realize that situation this year is different from the last year’s situation. Therefore, it must be handled in a different way

10- Always hope for the best and be prepared for the worst. Try to keep yourself abreast of present market updates and trends. It’s good to keep your CV updated and be ready for an interview at a short notice. Finally show some patience, don’t loose heart and be Enthusiastic

11- Remember that ALLAH is the Greatest, He knows where you will fit the best as a professional
