Best to switch over to other field and not to wait for the furthure expansion in the telecommunications field. There are enomorous related field to the telecommunications graduates'. Such as, doing a post graduate in Electrical. In power sector, there are a lot of vacancies. Or atleast join some Business school. Because, telecommunication itself as a great slump all over the world. For those, who are going to apply for BS degree, should keep in mind that as Ali and Sheikh has said, satellite communication is best. So better to major in satellite comm. In that way only, they will be beneficial from this field

Mr. Ali has mentioned a true UPCOMING jobs' expansion in the telecom sector ... but right now, one even can't easily COUNT the number of operating companies in the Pakistan in such sectors.

Well, but its true, that in the coming 5 yrs, these sectors will have a big BOOM ... and uptill then, what ??

Sorry for my comment.
Why is zumbeel BIASED? Wake up, almost 10,000 Telecomm engineers graduate every year and among them only a maximum of 300-400 get job.

When i was going through his interview, i read " HE GOT JOB IN VARIOUS FIELDS ", that reminds me of my brother in Kuwait as Assistant Production Manager in Gases company, saying " You can join my company ", thats a total SAFARISH. Interview from a Safarshi, that is biased.

Anyways CHAO,
Wake up :)

Totally agree with Ali. When new Grads see their seniors they want a decent job in any operator or big vendor. Ali hasn't mentioned Networking. Sooner or later it will be very hot field, with plenty of jobs and money.

well here is what i think about what ali said...he's right...i'll agree to every word he said..but to an extent..

look...i am a Telecom Engineer and i am working in PMO(Project Management) ,what the fresh grads need to understand is that its what you chose or learn is a professional becomes what your in the future..dont think stuff like "what will happen to all the technical things we learnt" etc etc...what you need is a start in the beginning of your career and things get better when time goes on...

now for the part jobs being dried up...well to tell you the truth, they have,,,its not to demoralize the new grads but to let them know of the reality ,so that they can prepare them selves accordingly...

as far as chosing fields like car tracking or satellite..they are awsome...no doubt about that...but the point is that for thosr poor grads who can not go abroad where these fields really get implemented and some serious waork is donee on them...in our beloved (so called developing country) im sorry they have no scope because there is no serious RND...

i hope my words help the fresh grads understand the importance of understanding the reality and facts...
